dot NET Valley Meets Tonight!

Next Meeting: Wednesday, January 17th

The next .NET Valley meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at Luzerne County Community College, Nanticoke PA. A map of the campus can be found here. We will meet in building 7, room 703. The event will begin at 6pm.

Presenting for .NET Valley will be Microsoft TechNet Presenter, Michael Murphy, and .NET Valley Leadership Team Member, Rachel Appel.

IT Professional: Windows Vista is Here!

We’ll discuss how your Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007 deployment process can be simplified using Business Desktop Deployment 2007. In addition, we’ll show you management improvements in Windows Vista that make it possible to save money on your IT operations. We’ll enable you with tools to secure your computing infrastructure end to end against the latest threats with the most recent technologies from Microsoft.

Developer: An overview of ADO.NET and the SqlDataSource control
(7:15pm - 8:15pm)
This session will take an introductory look at the architecture of ADO.NET and the SqlDataSource control. First we will look at ADO.NET architecture, design goals and familiarities between ADO.NET v1.x and ADO.NET 2.0. Later we will explore how to use the declarative data model to create a sqlDataSource control, connect to a data source, retrieve, display and update data.
