Branch Office Infrastructure Solution (BOIS) Release 2

A common misconception I hear is that Microsoft does not address vertical oriented solutions. In an attempt to dispel that myth we just released a new version of our Branch Office Infrastructure Solution (BOIS).

BOIS is an example of how the Microsoft platform addresses branch banking issues. This architecture addresses key architecture areas: Logical Architecture, Physical Architecture, Security Architecture and Network Architecture.

For architects whom are looking at revamping branch based solutions I would strongly recommend taking a look at this architecture for infrastructure concerns. This can give you a jump start on your organizations branch strategy.

In addition you can join this infrastructure framework with solution patterns and frameworks as well. Smart clients for example makes a great candidate for the branch given it thin footprint, rich user experience and rich integration options. This however does not preclude you from using web based or thick clients as well.
