What Would You Like to be Doing? (Poll Result)

Having asked what type of work you were involved in, I then asked what type of work you’d really like to be doing and the results are quite interesting. In the data below, the “Preference” column represents the results from the latter poll and the “Actual” column the results from the former.

As you can see, most people would prefer to be working on developing a brand new application but only about half of them are. Many more are creating a new version or doing maintenance.

Personally, I’d rather be on a beach nestled between two spectacular mountains where you simply stick a flag in the sand and someone brings you a cold beer. I suppose that’s not really gainful employment though…
