Getting your hands on Virtual PC 2007
I know... It seems like all of this week's posts are about VPC... Well I have been doing a bunch of work with VPC recently, so yeah, there are going to be some Virtual PC posts for the next couple of weeks. :-) If you are running Vista, you will notice that Virtual PC 2004 won't install and Virtual Server does with a little work.
Virtual PC 2007 is now available as a free download from https://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/virtualpc/default.mspx. Virtual PC 2007 is optimized to work well for Windows Vista as both the host and guest OS. This version works with both 32-bit Vista and 64-bit Vista as the host operating system as well as Windows XP and has improved performance including support for hardware virtualization technologies from AMD and Intel.
In my testing, VPC 2007 with Vista was faster on my Dell D600 (Which wasn't REALLY Vista capable) was faster than VPC 2004 with Windows XP. I have been running it for some time now and found it to be VERY stable. Check it out!!!

I have been trying to find information on XP pro 64bit as a host for VPC. I have run VISTA Business 64 as the Host and it works pretty well. Most of the documentation says that Server 2003 64 bit is also a compatible Host for VPC 2007. Any help on XP 64?
