Toyota cars in the cloud by 2015
Interesting story on the BBC website this week, on a plan to bring Internet services to Toyota vehicles. Microsoft and Toyota are jointly investing £7.3m in an initiative to provide features like GPS, power-management and multi-media services. The carmaker hopes to be able to offer them to customers worldwide by 2015.
The cloud services will use Windows Azure for remote storage and data handling. Azure is a cloud services development platform providing on-demand compute power and storage to host scale and manage web applications. You can find tools and an SDK, plus get a free trial here.
