Businesses liking new technology
A survey conducted by the tech support services provider iYogi found that one-third of businesses are considering switching to Windows 8. iYogi also learned that 38 percent of the respondents currently using iP*ds (Shhhh!) for business are exploring Windows 8 tablet options.
Hoorah! This blog is happy.
The launch of Windows 8 will bring an avalanche of new hardware, too. A number of diverse models have already become available, including traditional desktops and laptops, all-in-one touchscreen PCs, Ultrabooks (with and without touchscreens), tablets, and hybrid tablet/ultraportable products.
For some businesses, the options can be confusing and overwhelming.
Check back later this week and find some friendly tips!
The Deep Dark Web Book is released
Some books are scary. Some books are frightening. Some books are both.
The Deep Dark Web: The Hidden World is a scary encounter of the web, but not as we know it. There are sensitive issues that book cover, which many professionals may find uncomfortable to talk about.
The book covers the main aspects of the dangerous, but fabulous world of the ‘Deep Dark Web’.
Pierluigi Paganini and Richard Amores share their experiences and their encounters.
They have had a long collaboration in their efforts to document their findings.
They have made infiltrations into the dark places inaccessible to many to give a you the reader a clear vision on the major mystery of the dark hidden web that exist today in the Tor Onion network.
Sounds frightening, eh? Available here.
Microsoft working with OVF community to improve virtual machine interoperability
Now for a Microsoft message brought to you by Cheng’s Random Thoughts on System Management.
“I wanted to send out this quick note to update everyone on our continued focus on and commitment to portability and interoperability using OVF. We have gained valuable on-the-ground experience to ensure interoperability with our partners such as Citrix and VMware for Open Virtualization Format (OVF). Portability and interoperability of virtualization technologies across platforms using Linux and Windows virtual machines is important to Microsoft and to our customers.
Interoperability for core scenarios using the SC 2012 VMM OVF Export/Import tool and partner products, such as Citrix XenServer and XenCenter, and VMware Workstation and vCenter, helps realize our goals to benefit our individual and mutual customers, and guides development of OVF in DMTF. Citrix [blog], Microsoft and other industry players remain committed to standards such as OVF in DMTF.”
Hope this helps.
