When I import sample data I get the following error at the "Importing catalog:" stage: Error: Value does not fall within the expected range. Do you have suggestions on how to diagnose this? WRH

From what I can tell it might be an issue where the property you are trying to import is not the same as the existing property? What type of error do you get in the event log? Do you have any existing data to your site? If so then check to make sure that the schema matches. -Max

The same error appears in te event log. Thee are no catalogs for the site as yet.  I'm importing the sample data.  I get the same error if I try to import AdvWorksCatalog.xml using the Catalog Manager.  Is there a better place to post this than your blog?  Your blog was just the first place (under starter Site CTP) where I saw questions on starter site problems being answered.

By default Commerce Server creates a few properties in the product catalog. Try cleaning these items then try your import again. Open Catalog and Inventory Schema Manager and delete all category definitions, product definitions, and non built in properties definitions. In the future you can post your questions in our forums. http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/default.aspx?forumgroupid=294&SiteID=1 -Max
