Become an Industry Insider and get published on TechNet

Industry Insiders is the term given to a community activity that my team (Microsoft's IT Pro Evangelists in the UK) have recently started.  The idea is to help bring together technical experts in the ITPro Community by providing a high visibility forum in which they can share their thoughts.  Essentially the forum is a Blog, hosted by Microsoft TechNet, where Industry Insiders can have articles published which offer advice on how best to make the most of the technology that companies and IT Pro's have already invested in.

Many ITPros have a great deal of experience in solving real world problems using technology.  We are aware that vendors (Microsoft included) often talk about their products in isolation, detached from the real world in which ITPros actually deploy them.  We are very well aware that the real world contains copious amounts of software from other verndors and in the real world things just don't work the way we might portray them.

We see Industry Insiders as great way for ITPros to learn from other people's experience and for ITPros to get the credit/visibility for the ideas e and solutions they've put together to solve real world problems. To view articles detailing the suggestions and experience of the first Industry Insiders simply browse to the Industry Insider website.  We have our first 'data' entry, an excelent article from Tony Rogerson (who runs the SQL User group here in the UK); I am keen to see more just like it.  We will publish your biography on the site to give you visibility and credit - and who knows as we move on there maybe some freebies as well

We're looking for contributions from anyone who has some practical advice they'd like to share with the broader community. If YOU'd like to be involved then please email insideuk@microsoft.com or read the "contributions" section of the website OR feel free to contact me at an event/online.
