Post-Event PR

IMAGE_020Love when partners stoke the fire after an event. Here's what I got this morning....Nice job!

Microsoft and The Computer Doctor Partner Event held in Occoquan, VA yesterday was a huge success. The afternoon was filled with excitement as our customers and IT partners gathered at the custom-built 42-foot truck that served as a meeting room and demonstration center. It doesn’t get any better than getting Microsoft in front of our customers to ask questions and get answers.

The inside of the truck featured 4- 50” plasma screens used to demonstrate Windows Vista and Office 2007. The most dramatic change is in WORD 2007 allowing a user to distribute a document in a PDF format, without using Adobe Acrobat, but it was the integration of Outlook 2007 ,  Information Rights Management  and SharePoint  that got everyone’s attention. One example is the sender of a document or email can control what the receiver is able to do after receiving it, such as restricting the recipient’s ability to forward, print, share, or edit without authorization from the sender.

Windows Vista is clearly Microsoft’s best work to date. Microsoft has essentially provided a server quality operating system at the desktop level. Many of the security enhancements are new to the desktop users, but not to our Microsoft Certified Professionals.

Here are some fun photo’s from yesterday’s Microsoft Across America Tour that were taken on a Windows Mobile 5.0 pocket PC phone yesterday. This device can do everything; even replace the universal remote for your television.

Technology will allow you to work smarter and improve quality of life for yourself and your employees. That begins with the knowledge to make the right decisions, and we’re here to help.
