Here's an idea...Google buys www.wikipedia.org (if that's even possible), but talk about the ability to offer highly targeted, relevant ads. Man...

It should be possible. The law see it as everything is owned by someone. Wikipedia is owned by the Wikimedia Foundation, and it has a board of directors, which can authorize a sale (division of the proceeds is another matter). Some contributors will complain that they thought their work would be permanently public, and they might sue, but they will almsot certainly lose. For a precedent, remember that IMDB.COM was bought by Amazon.
