Blog Value Proposition...

Last night, lying in bed (hey, where else to do solid thinking), I outlined the three focus areas for the blog....

  1. A Play by Play (with color commentary :-) of the evolving process I hope to use to build community and leverage smart data to help revolutionize the way that Microsoft and our partners do marketing...or get fired tryin'
  2. Pontificate and reference great examples of truly Remarkable marketing...to inspire you and me to do better (per #1)
  3. Highlight and tell great stories of partners who are leveraging Microsoft's resource to accomplish #2

The catalyst was my move to Microsoft's Public Sector team.

What will I be doing?

I just updated my LinkedIn profile (as well as Plaxo) with the following description for my responsibilities:

    • Building a vibrant and engaged community of over 300 Microsoft partners who sell solutions to Federal, State, Local Gov't and Education in the US.
    • Developing and executing upon highly scalable and trackable marketing engines to drive $10 million in licensing revenue

As for #1 above, I like to say, "we 're building the engine as we're driving the car." Hope you will come along for the ride (or better yet, help build with me!)

Me again.  Do you want partners to join THIS conversation?  Or are you building up to something?  I think your intention is to get their help/insight building the strategy. That would be remarkable- including your audience in your planning.  I'll continue to be intrigued.   BTW - how are you updating FB from your phone?  I've got so much to learn.

From Marshall Krantz's blog http://www.misoapbox.com/2007/06/creating_good_v.html "...He's in favor of them. He encouraged everybody to try to achieve them. But to my frustration, he offered no suggestions."
