It is nice to see that they atleast redesign there site. There is not much of new technology injected in windows mobile since 5.0 [some very minor thing inject in 6.0 -6.1] See where is Ipod, Blackberry and now goole android [whihc i am sure will capture much of china market] stands now. There is not much concentration on windows mobile now from microsoft.

We are absolutely investing in Windows Mobile. We’re coming off of a terrific fiscal year in which we sold more than 18 million Windows Mobile licenses. Our growth rate for the fiscal year doubles the overall market growth rate, which is about 32 percent for the calendar year (IDC). This year alone, thanks to our partners, we’ve brought more than 30 new Windows Mobile phones to market. Windows Mobile has better tools, platform consistency, wider distribution (through larger number of phones, open marketplace, and enterprise channels), and strong Microsoft and community support. Apple and Google have definitely energized the developer community. However, once the initial excitement wears off, some of the disadvantages of their offerings will become more obvious. For example, Apple has locked down the platform and the developer community has not reacted positively to their restrictive policies. As for Android, some developers complain that even if they are familiar with J2ME, they still have to spend a significant amount of time to understand simple things, such as the application lifecycle, the UI framework and many other APIs.   While I cannot talk specifically about future releases, we are working to bring the innovations to our platform that our customers want even faster. While some elements will emerge faster, others are being developed.
