Washington State Democratic Caucuses: Feb 7

This year, the Democratic party in Washington is opting for a caucus rather than a primary. Caucuses require, in my opinion, much more commitment than voting. You show up, talk, listen to other people talk, move around into groups (hopefully of 15% or more), and vote. The caucus process here in Washington is fairly drawn out. The county caucuses are in April/Mail, the legislative district caucus is in May, the state convention is in June (complete calendar below). If you care about who Washington State elects and you're a Democrat, you have to show up at your caucus location on February 7 at 10am to have a say. Republicans, you'll just have to wait till November to let you feelings be known.

I attended the Spokane precinct caucus and was elected a deligate. I have a note in my date book "April 23-24 Dem. caucus." I believe this has something to do with the platform. My certificate says I was elected a "deligate to the County and /or Legislative District Caucus from Precinct 4430."

I thought there would be additional information by now regarding where to go and what to do. Could you please advise me?

You could Email or could call 509-924-6737, where a message regarding this can be left at any time if we don't pick up.

There will always be a screening message asking the caller to identify him or her self on the second ring and it will take us longer to reach the phone.
