Why hasn't Larry posted in almost a month?
Mostly because Larry's been swamped with work :).
I've been heads down working on stuff and it's pretty much monopolized my time for the past month or so. The good news is that my schedule has relaxed a bit (although I still have what seems to be a never ending stream of threat models to review).

Heheh, excellent, good to have you blogging again, I always enjoy your posts. Swamped with Windows 7 related work, Larry? Or is that confidential? :-)Anonymous

I'm working on "stuff" :). Since my posts often reflect what I'm working on day-to-day, you might be able to figure it out from what I'm posting on, but not always - for instance, the QI post from the other day had nothing to do with my day-to-day work :). Neither will Monday's post (which is a followup to the QI post). But others might.Anonymous

I expect you were busy helping to prepare the documentation on the windows protocols just released. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc216514.aspx Since you said you were involved with the last release: http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/archive/2006/07/25/678213.aspxAnonymous

Actually I had very little to do with that effort. I worked on: MS-RAP (the remote admin protocol), MS-BRWS (the Windows browser protocol) and MS-DPL4 (the DirectPlay4 protocol).Anonymous

PatriotB: We documented every protocol that had to deal with a Windows client talking to a Windows server over a network. Another example I was associated with was the MS-RAP protocol. It's the remote admin protocol used by Lan Manager and Windows 98 clients. And we had to document a large subset of the protocol because Windows 98 clients used it. Check the documentation out - it's massive.
