Exchange Server Status

Sorry folks, I created the blog shortly before going to San Diego for a team summit, so I haven't had a chance to blog.

Anyhow, I have some "bigger" tips coming up, but here's a little niblet of cheese from the labrat for you to chew on while I play catch-up on email.

Upon my return, I plug in the laptop into the network tap to update Outlook. I notice that it seems to be taking a little longer to update. I know I have a ton of mail waiting for me, but it still shouldn't be taking this long. 

Ever had this problem? If you are using Outlook 2003, there's a handy, schmandy way for you to check the connection status.

On your taskbar, you'll notice an Outlook 2003 icon. If you click on it, you'll see options for you to turn on or off such as "Show network warnings" and the like.

However, if you hold down the CTRL key while clicking on that icon, you'll notice a new option, "Connection Status". Selecting that option will show you all kinds of useful information about your connection to your Exchange Server(s).

I know it's only a small niblet, but hopefully some of you will find it handy.
