Visual Studio 2005 SDK Browser: SWEET!
If you’re building extensions for Visual Studio, look at these screenshots of the gorgeous new VS SDK browser that the VS Tools Ecosystem team just shipped as part of Visual Studio SDK 4.0. Features like these make it a snap to find the right sample to jump start your project. Docs are integrated into the portal interface, and once you’ve used the filters to get just the right sample, you can click to open it up in VS.
Install is a snap, and the features are easy to find and work with. The last of the install screens points to another treat: a CodePlex Visual Studio Extensions project. It’s just brand new, but I’ll bet there will be plenty of great community projects up soon.
A feature I really like is the feedback link. You know what a pain sending feedback can be. Here you just click the link and an email message is opened. No endless forms to fill out.
And if you think building extensions is just for developers with god-status, take another look. EWeek reported today: With Version 4, the SDK is "more approachable to new users, such as academics or community developers," said Rob Brigham, program manager for the Visual Studio SDK. “Because a lot of new people are beginning to use the SDK, the new version includes Visual Studio SDK QuickStart tutorials to walk users through wizards and create extension projects.”
James Lau highlights some of the cooler features of the SDK on his blog.

Karin, thanks for the great review of our SDK! You did a better job at talking about it than we did :)Anonymous

James, I'm really impressed with what you've done, and I've only blogged about the browser. I'm looking forward to playing with some of the other stuff in the SDK. I'd like to incorporate a browser experience in the Windows SDK and will be looking into how we can do something similar. Congratulations to your team on a very cool effort.Anonymous
