StumbleUpon Social Bookmarking takes off

None of us has trouble wasting time on the Web, but the social bookmarking service StumbleUpon makes random surfing a lot more fun. You add a toolbar to your browser then hit the “stumble” button to jump to sites you might like, based on preferences you entered when you join (web development, gardening, cats…). Hit “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” to rate sites. Plenty of people have been stumbling around – 2 billion sites so far. A “What’s New” tab, displaying the most recent stumbles, is a new feature for StumbleUpon, offering newly added websites and videos from the community of 2.6 million stumblers. Mashable reported that eBay bought StumbleUpon for $75 million on May 30. I have fun with this but find it’s buggy on IE7. I have better luck on FireFox with this add-in.
