.NET Framework 3.5 June 2007 CTP released today
If you’re still using the Beta 1 bits from April, it’s time to update. Lots of changes since then! Be sure you read the small print because you need to uninstall your earlier versions through ARP (Programs and Features) before installing the CTP. Another known issue requires that .NET Fx 3.0 be installed before you install the June CTP (or you can run a script). Download the .NET Framework 3.5 June 2007 Community Technology Preview (CTP) and learn all the details.
7/3 UPDATE: Don't try installing the June CTP release on top of Visual Studio 2008 ("Orcas") Beta 1. You need to keep the .NET Fx and Visual Studio versions in sync.
This Redist is targeted at folks who are looking to self-host the new runtime or don’t require VS for development.
.NET Framework 3.5 is expected to be released near the end of 2007. It will be included in Visual Studio 2008 and will also continue to be available for separate download on MSDN. For more information about the features that are being introduced in .NET Framework 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008, see: https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa700830.aspx

Hi Karin, Could you clear something up. If uninstall the beta 1 drop of the .NET 3.5 framework and install the June 2007 CTP drop, will the beta 1 Orcas IDE continue to work? Kind regards, tomAnonymous

Tom, don't try installing the June CTP release on top of Visual Studio 2008 (code named"Orcas") Beta 1. You need to keep the .NET Fx and Visual Studio versions in sync. I'll make another post about what you can do with the June CTP of the .NET Fx. Thanks VERY MUCH for pointing this out!
