Do I need the Windows SDK to create plugins for WMP 11?

If you’re creating plugins for Windows Media Player 11 you may not need to download the Windows SDK. Steve Perry on the WMP Team tells me that you can use the Windows Media Player 10 SDK to create most types of plug-ins for WMP. However, you cannot use the WMP 10 SDK to create a plug-in for a type 1 online store. Also, the DSP plug-in wizard has been updated in recent releases of the Windows SDK.
