Nice article, it explained that how to upgrade from Exchange server 2007 & 2010 to Exchange 2013. I found automated utility fromhttp://www.exchangemigrationtool.com which allows to migrate exchange server to another live exchange server without facing any difficulties. This tool migrate multiple mailboxes from one live Exchange Server to another live Exchange Server and MS Office 365.Anonymous

Hi Venkat:
I think you maybe have three options:
One is build a new forest domain, then create a one or two direction domain relationship with old forest. Of course, you need have permission to setup domain relationship. Then you can use ADMT to migrate all user data, regarding the Exchange mailbox data, you can use Exchange EMC to migrate. This is the best result, you can migrate all user data and mailbox smoothly. The second is If you can't setup forest relationship, maybe you need to give up migrate domain users migration. The last way is you can consider O365 Exchange online solution, you can use O365 exchange online to build your managed environment unless you have other internal server need to running on private environment. This will be a better choose.Anonymous

Hi Gagan: In Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010, you use the Move-OfflineAddressBook cmdlet to move the OAB generation to another Mailbox server. Exchange 2013 supports only OAB (version 4). This is the same version that was the default in Exchange 2010. You can’t configure Exchange 2013 to generate other OAB versions, and the OAB generation occurs on the Mailbox server on which the organization mailbox resides. Therefore, to move OAB generation in Exchange 2013, you must move the organization mailbox. You can only move the OAB generation to another Exchange 2013 mailbox database. You can’t move OAB generation to a previous version of Exchange.Anonymous

Create a new OAB in 2013 ( guess 2013 creates one at installation ) and remove the old OAB. Able to remove role after that. Worked for meAnonymous

Hi Gagan: Do you try this : technet.microsoft.com/.../d0faeb2a-79d3-4ded-aa40-20f3b187b414.aspx 1.Open EMC, navigate to Organization Configuration->Mailbox 2.Select the tab Offline Address Book tab(right pane), Right click and select Move and select the mailbox server to which you wish to move the OAB and click on Move button. 3.Continue the same if you have multiple OABs available.Anonymous

I have a scenario of Windows AD & Exchange Server migration and need some help from you friends. My case is this.
Company B is a sister concern of Company A and is branching out to become a self-managed and separately managed company. There are about 200 existing users in Company B. Company B's users are part of AD forest of Company A and they are organized as a separate OU in Company A's Windows Server 2008 AD Forest & Domain. Company B's email users are having mailboxes in Company A's Exchange 2010 Server. Company B is building up a new IT infrastructure in a new site and will use a new domain in the new setup. The new setup will have Windows Server 2012 AD Domain and Exchange Server 2013. What is the safe method of migration of users and their data in this case?
Thanks in advance for your help.Anonymous
