Yet another SharePoint Internet site goes live .. .. .. ..

Home Group, the UK’s third largest social housing provider, has completed the migration of its Web site to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. Replacing an open-source solution, the site went live on 28 March 2008, ahead of schedule. It is the first major deliverable in a strategic programme of investment in Internet, Intranet and Extranet capability. Andy Lee, Group Director of Communications for Home Group, comments “The redeployment of our Web site onto MOSS 2007 opens up a large number of opportunities for us to provide enhanced services to our customers. We have ambitious plans for the future, and the next major milestone is the launch of a new Intranet on MOSS 2007 in the summer. Thereafter, we plan to extend the use of MOSS 2007 to provide secure Extranet facilities to our tenants and other customers.” The housing association, which owns and manages over 50,000 homes across the UK, has adopted MOSS 2007 as its core platform for managing all Internet, Intranet and Extranet content.
