Mixing SharePoint Standard and Enterprise CAL Functionality
I often get asked this question - "What if some users need enterprise features and others do not?"
Well the answer is available on the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 frequently asked questions Page
Once the enterprise features of Office SharePoint Server 2007 are enabled, every client accessing enterprise functionality on that server, or servers in a farm, is required to have an Enterprise CAL in addition to their standard client access.
Hope this clears it up.

How were you going you to restrict access?Anonymous

Well, it's still not clear for me. If I restrict access to enterprise functionality for half of users, then it's enough to buy enterprise CALs for that half only. Technically possible, but if it's ok from the licensing point of view?Anonymous

Simply by publishing enterprise functionality on some pages accessible to only a few users while on others not. John, is mixing possible or not? Does it really have to be like 'everyone or noone' with Enterprise CALS?
