Getting the best out of SharePoint - some hints and tips

There's lots of postings out there on architecting, deploying and supporting SharePoint. But very little on how to get the best out of it and how to get it used. So I thought I'd do a few posts on little things I've picked up over the years.

There's going to be very little original thought in these posts - as Newton said, "If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants." - I'll try and credit the originator where possible but If I can't remember and miss you off the list accept my apologies and send me a little reminder :)

So what I've got is a list of recommendations, do's and don'ts, hints and tips for getting something like SharePoint used. It's based on things that have worked with some customers and things that haven't worked with others. Hopefully you'll find them useful.
