SQL Server 2012 SP1 includes new functionality that simplifies the backup and restore capability of an on-premise SQL Server database to Windows Azure: SQL Server Backup and Restore to Cloud Simplified
Windows Azure Store, which is currently in a preview mode, allows the extension of Windows Azure platform through developer services built by third parties. Windows Azure Media Services (formerly known with the code name Nimbus) is in GA through this post: Announcing Release of Windows Azure Media Services. Current release supports media encoding and on-demand streaming of content into various clients including HTML5, Flash, Silverlight, Windows 8, iPad, iPhone, Android, Xbox and Windows Phone.
Microsoft recently announced Windows Azure Notification Hub - a capability under the Service Bus moniker for enabling highly scalable large scale device notification infrastructure. Windows Azure Mobile Services is another capability to help with push notifications at smaller scales.
