Office Communicator Mobile 2007 for WM5/6 - now available!

Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile is a Unified Communications client for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. Communicator Mobile runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0 software for Pocket PC and smartphone devices.

Here are some screenshots from my phone.

A presence indicator is installed on your Today screen.  (yes I know that's a lot of unread email - that's what I'm going to do next.  I swear!)

My personal contact groups.

Expanding my Nortel contact list.  Yes, Nortel.  That is federation in action, so this is not limited to contacts inside your corporate network!

More detail on Kirsten Gilbertson from Nortel (her contact details deliberately removed for privacy reasons).  I can she'll be free at 6:30pm (that automatically comes direct from her Outlook calendar) - and I can call any of her phones, email her, or send a txt message straight from Communicator.

How cool is that!!??

(Oh and if you're wondering how I took the screenshot with the Treo 750 skin - SOTI Pocket Controller is your friend.  It is the single best tool for Windows Mobile demos/presentations :))

Nice. Question.  For a company/person wanting to evaluatate some mobile 6 devices what recommendations or pointers  can you give.  Which devices should we evaluate.  Is there a site that can provide comparisons? You are using the Palm Treo.  What do you like about it and what not. Thanks Eddy

It mainly comes down to what form-factor you're after. I love my Treo 750, but it is a large form-factor with full keyboard, and it runs Mobile 6 Professional.  So it's great for during the week doing email etc - I can actually use it as a laptop replacement most of the time as all of my tools are available. However on the weekend I usually use an old iMate SP5 as I like the small form-factor.  It lets me make calls, send txt, view my calendar/email - but it's not so great for sending/replying to email.

Johann, what version of COMO are you using ? The one available on the MS download site does not show telephone info for contacts and does not allow to make calls ?? The pictures you have published dont match what I can see on my WM6 phone. any ideas ? Thanks
