Vermont Code Camp (and more!) – September 22nd
New England in the fall! What could make it better? Well, a code camp of course! You’re in luck, the fourth annual Vermont Code Camp is this Saturday, September 22nd, at the University of Vermont from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Vermont Code Camp is a full day event that brings together technology community members, students and professionals from around Vermont and beyond. There are sessions on a variety of software topics including programming, databases, web, business and more
The schedule includes about 30 business and technically oriented sessions covering everything from Windows 8 to Arduino to SQL. It’s an awesome – and FREE – opportunity to perhaps learn about alternative technologies you don’t use on a day-to-day basis or to go deep with experts in ones you do. There’s a great crop of speakers as well, from the local area and beyond, and based on the nearly 50% year-over-year growth in attendance, there will be plenty of networking opportunities. Thanks in advance to the team of local volunteers that put this entire event together and also for the support of the numerous sponsors who are providing venue space, food and drink, SWAG, and more! |
By the way, if you’re in town early, consider taking part in the Windows 8 Game Dev Fest being held Friday evening from 5 to 10 p.m. at Champlain College. My colleague Chris Bowen will be the “Festmeister” and give an overview of the Windows 8 opportunity for game developers – including C#, VB, HTML5, DirectX and XNA (via MonoGame). You’ll then have an opportunity to form teams or go solo as you hack your way to fame and fortune (yes, there will be prizes!)
