Torn Between Two (Code) Camps
It’s a busy weekend in the Boston area in terms of tech camps, but I’m planning on making the circuit – hopefully, you’ll be able to get to at least one of these too.
The organizers behind New England Code Camp 16 (Patrick Hynds, Bob Goodearl, and Chris Pels) have been taking care of the details, including putting together an impressive agenda of over 40 sessions delivered “by the community, for the community.” Topics include core Microsoft-technologies like ASP.NET, Silverlight, and LINQ, as well as a wide array of open-source and other technologies (JavaScript, iOS, jQuery, and MongoDB, and more). I’m one of the co-organizers as well of the first WhereCamp Boston. At the helm is Guido Stein, who’s led the charge for several of the Ignite Spatial events in the area over the past couple of years. WhereCamp is an ‘unconference’ focused on the specific topic of spatial technology, with this edition having main theme areas of spatial society, hacking, and connections. You can check out the Wiki and propose a session, and we’ll build the final agenda on the spot Saturday morning.
