Special Boston Azure User Group Event
It’s shaping up to be a busy week for Windows Azure. As I mentioned last week, there’s a great opportunity to learn all about the platform from the Gu himself, as well as from Microsoft Fellows Dave Campbell and Mark Russinovich and a host of the Microsoft “Azurati” via an all day live-streaming event on Tuesday, December 13th.
It turns out the Boston Azure User Group is also meeting on Tuesday, and the leadership has managed to expand the meeting times a bit so attendees can catch one of the live streaming sessions before the regular meeting. The group will kick-off at 5:30 p.m. (at NERD) and we’ll tune into David Aiken’s presentation on Building Scalable Cloud Applications live from Redmond. Some of you may remember that David kicked off the first Azure Firestarter at the Boston Azure User Group about 18 months ago.
The regularly scheduled program will commence at 7 (following a quick pizza break); although, “regular” is a bit of a misnomer. There’s a bevy (yes, five is a bevy) of speakers from Blue Metal Architects coming to talk about various aspects of extending your existing applications to mobile devices (including iPhone and iPad(!)) using Windows Azure.
Of course, after the event we’ll do the traditional gathering at a local watering hole, and I expect there will be a lot to talk about after these events…. just sayin’
