The event was kicked off by a welcome note from Saeed A. Moosa, Premier Systems later Abdul Ali Khan, Premier Systems delivered a presentation on Lync Server. The event mainly focused across the theme of having a Private Cloud setup for Enterprise & Large scale Customers.

I delivered a session on Microsoft Private Cloud, which is built using Windows Server & System Center. My presentation started with the overall technology roadmap and discussing the upcoming enhancements. I also talked about the challenges being faced by customer specifically in Pakistan including Datacenter maintenance, IT being treated just as a cost center, security and compliance requirements surrounding public sector organizations, shrinking IT budgets, manage more with less resources. The idea was to discuss the challenges we all face and then help customer identify the solution to meet the expectations of stakeholders.

So basically during the discussion/presentation we talked about What is a private cloud; How do i build one; How do i utilize my existing resources; What Microsoft stack offers, why it is different; What's the success criteria; How will it benefit the traditional workflow between App owner and DC admin; What is Microsoft doing in virtualization, benchmarking; How System Center family helps achieve resource pooling; elasticity; self service; chargeback. Individual System Center products were also discussed in detail such as SCCM; SCOM; SCVMM; Orchestrator and etc. Further Windows Azure Pack for Windows Server was also explored where we talked about providing users the similar experience of Windows Azure within your own Datacenter and other enhancements which we can do while provisioning our DCs as IaaS; PaaS or SaaS (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/windows-azure-pack.aspx).

The event was ended with Q&A and having offline discussions with customers and working out on future engagements. Microsoft Pakistan is working with it's customers on Private Cloud initiatives and is doing various engagements on different levels through Partners and Microsoft Services.
