Microsoft Purchases Winternals
In a very interesting twist Microsoft today announced the acquisition of Winternals and Sysinternals. This is really interesting news and I am glad to see Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell getting to have more of an impact on the Windows product.

Jesper,
On a unrelated note: will you be at TechEd NZ again this year? Hoping to see you (and drag others) so I can convince more staff :-)Anonymous

This is a big win for Microsoft. These two are extremley talented, and I can't wait to see some of their tools built in to future products.Anonymous

Great news for those involved, lousy news for those of us who use their products.
Not because the products will be worse: I'm sure they won't.
Rather, because I don't anticipate MS caring about whether future versions will run on anything other than XP or Vista.
This is a shame, because I find the vast majority of system recovery tasks are carried out on older systems.
