We work in a fast changing World.
The above statement I suppose is stating the obvious. But i was reading the following article in the Register , which Jason Langridge blogged about how RIM no longer has the dominance in the Mobility MarketPlace. Well I have been using mobile devices for many years now, and I can remember the "disconnected devices" Psions, utilized the Phillip Ninos, Worked through the Compaq Ipaqs and have in my previous existence own a Blackberry. However now the proud owner of the SPV M3100, what I like and find extremely useful is the seamless nature of my experience. What we our finding with our customers is the fact that out of the box with Exchange 2003 sp2 is that our Mobility solution is just an extension of their messaging environment and of course is available "ZERO" charge without any need for any "middleware" components or licenses. This seems to be a great motivating factor for many companies, hence with the maturity of the Microsoft solution the result of the following poll
"In a recent Reg Reader poll, the number of enterprise respondents citing native MS Exchange with ActiveSync as their strategic mobile email platform was almost identical to the number committed to RIM Blackberry." Is not that suprising.
What I also found interesting was reading Ewan MacLeods blog ,SMS Text News about the rumour of Apple and Rim joining forces to create a "new revolutionary " mobile phone. Well flame me if you like, but dont we have that already....it is called Windows Mobile 5 with Windows Media player for Mobile and SD cards in all shapes and sizes !
