Professional Developers Conference 2008 - Los Angeles

image Over the last two weeks, with many of my colleagues at Microsoft's internal MGX conference and our internal training event TechReady, I have heard nothing except "Wow, can't wait until PDC!  This stuff is cool!"

I am incredibly jealous.

Now I definitely can't wait to go to PDC!

Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference only happens once every few years.  This October, it's being held in Los Angeles and the lineup is incredible.  And that's just the stuff they're telling us about publicly.  There will be a lot of new and amazing things to see there including previews, releases, and lots of surprises.  For a great overview of some of the sessions, see the session list here: http://www.microsoftpdc.com/Agenda/Sessions.aspx

The conference starts on Monday, October 27th with Ray Ozzie kicking off the keynote.  It goes on with technical sessions, a partner expo, hands-on labs, discussions and lots of other events throughout the week until Thursday, October 30th.

I can't recommend this conference highly enough.  If you are an architect, business decision maker or otherwise managing developers or IT, you need to be there.  If you are a developer of any kind, this will be an eye-opener in a big way.

When I first heard PDC was going on this year, I wasn't sure folks in Ireland would be all that interested, with it being so close to TechEd in Barcelona and being all the way in Los Angeles.  But after taking a closer look at costs and thinking about the exchange right now, it's actually quite a bargain.  If you register by August 15th, the ticket price is $2195 USD which is a lot cheaper in Euros, and then of course your travel expenses once you're in the US would be a steal as well.  Yay for the great exchange rate!

But book now as it will definitely be sold out soon, if not before the end of the Early Bird discount.

I'm really hoping to go this year as well, so see you in LA!
