IE9 Platform Preview released at MIX
At the MIX10 conference in Las Vegas this week, Microsoft announced the availability of an Internet Explorer 9 "platform preview" release during Tuesday's keynote address.
One of the most interesting features that was announced was how IE9 is the first browser to provide fully hardware-accelerated SVG support. IE9 uses Windows’ modern graphics APIs and the PC’s hardware to accelerate all the graphics and text that the browser draws on the screen.
This post from the IE Blog takes a look at what’s coming with HTML5 Standards support, faster JavaScript rendering, and killer developer tools support built-in.
