Adam Vero - Technical Director of Meteor IT Ltd

Meteor IT is a consulting and training services firm based in Leeds providing systems installation and management consultancy for businesses in the professional services sector and a variety of SMEs.

The training arm of the company delivers courses in end-user applications including MS Office, as well as broader topics such as IT security or presentation skills.

Since writing his first program nearly 25 years ago Adam has never been far away from a computer. He has been lucky enough to have been paid to do his hobby full time for over fourteen years: programming, teaching, managing systems and consulting. He spent five years with one of the largest IT resellers in the UK working mainly with top-ten banking and insurance clients. Following that he worked for four years in a leading law firm as a Systems Administrator and IT Manager. During this time the company underwent two major mergers and several smaller ones, so he is no stranger to managing a changing environment and the challenges this brings in technical and political terms. He has collected various bits of paper over the years, and is currently a MCP, CWNA, MOS: Master, and MLSS.

When time permits, Adam shares his thoughts on a range of IT subjects on his personal weblog Ramblings of a self-confessed Geek. He is also a moderator and prolific contributor for www.Security-Forums.com and www.GPAnswers.com and a regular contributor to many other websites and forums. Currently he volunteers as treasurer for the Leeds branch of charity the National Childbirth Trust. He prefers to write about himself in the third person as he thinks it makes him sound more important.
