"The more people you know, the luckier you will be"

Speaking of being lucky (well, fortunate, really), I had the chance to meet Karen Salmansohn last week in New York. Karen is a real firecracker (hmm, not that I know anything about being referred to in that way) and who I think of as the dynamic author of the cliffs notes of business self-help books on a triple shot latte.

Peter Clayton of Total Picture Radio interviews Karen here. Trust me, she's very entertaining and has a talent for boiling down inspiring concepts into a few words (and some of the words are pretty cheeky too). Some of you may find her statements controversial (language alert for those that are sensitive to it).

"You need a career pick-up line"

"Don't be the Michael Jordan of baseball, be the Michael Jordan of basketball"

Love her and boy, she sure talks fast!

"Hey baby, you got a treadmill in the office? Cuz I'd like to run your servers 24/7."

Wait, is this where we learn what not to say to recruiters?

"What's a recruiter like you blogging in a place like this?"
