Microsoft Get Serious About 'The Apprentice'

Tonight's episode of "The Apprentice" will feature Microsoft's own Live Meeting product team, part of our Real Time Collaboration Group. As reported in the Seattle PI, Microsoft took this opportunity very seriously. Can I just say how proud I am when I hear about this kind of stuff? I'd be even prouder if the Microsoft employees involved recruited Randal and Alla right out from under The Donald's nose. Oh, hmmm, maybe that's my job.

But wait, there's more (sorry, I can't help it...I'm just feeling it). You can go to this website and get a free trial of Live Meeting, join a Live Meeting with recently relieved "Apprentice" contestants, and view past Live Meetings with former contestants. There's also a Live Meeting on December 9th, with The Donald and some of the other "Apprentice insiders" (I'd like to chat with some of those producers that have been toying with me, wouldn't you?). And there will be a Live Meeting on December 16th with The Donald and the newly hired Apprentice. You should tune in. You know you want to.

  I agree 100% with your last sentence, but I don't totally agree with the entrepreneur part. You may be the boss, but you are not an omniscient, omnipotent being. Sometimes true leadership is knowing when to follow, while still preventing things from falling apart (essentially slapping on that smile and making it work). Even though project managers have done such, no one's ever (at least not that I've seen) brought that up in the boardroom. Presumably, the people working for you are sitting on seats you don't or can't occupy (that's a reference to "Good to Great", which I got as Microsoft swag some time ago).
