Landed.fm interview with Gerry Crispin
Peter Clayton interviews Gerry Crispin on Landed.fm. If you are in recruiting and you don't know Gerry, you should get to know him. He's one of those people that always has something interesting to say (and I'm not just saying that because my name came up a few times on the course of the interview).
Gerry and his consulting partner, Mark Mehler, run CareerXRoads. The are also kind of the "it guys" of staffing. Maybe even the benevolent godfathers of staffing. In this two part interview, Gerry talks about the employment industry (and the so-called "war for talent"), networking and lots more.
In the interview, Gerry also speaks of "goosing" staffing folks to share what they are doing. I've been on the receiving end of that and have to say that what Gerry and Mark do best is bring great folks in the staffing industry together. It's valuable to be on the receiving end of the best practice sharing that they encourage, and to be regarded as someone who has something to share is quite flattering and really motivating. Specifically, it's put me on a path to question "the way we do things"...I'll never take that at face value again.
Gerry's a good guy to listen to and a better guy to know.

I am a leadership coach at Executive Excellence in search of Peter Clayton. He attended the HCI conference in Chicago this past April. I'd like to get his ideas on a few thinks that he learned at that expo. Perhaps exchange a few ideas.

Hey Geoff,
Go to this site to send Peter an e-mail: http://www.landed.fm/index.php?option=com_contact&Itemid=3
Normally I wouldn't tell someone to expect a response to a form, but I have no doubt that Peter will get back to you.
