I understand.

There's more than one reason not to go down that street.

Hi heather, I just stumbled upon your blog and want to say that I'm truly enjoying it.  I am relatively new to tech marketing (having switched from consumer products) w/ a small software company that is also a partner of MSFT in HPC.  I love my job, but am still trying to find my way around technical jargon and the many layers of marketing in a large tech company as MSFT. Your blog has demystified a lot of that for me, and I just want to thank you for being so enlightening!   Best, HPC Marketer

Your father was correct, although possibly a little misleading. I guarantee you that you will never find a mall at the end of a road posting that sign. Always listen to your father ;-)

My mother, who grew up in South Philly during the time of polio epidemic, and believed Outlet was a disease. Thus, this sign marked streets which had No Outlet. A good place for kids to play, I'm guessing.
