NEW Integration Capabilities with Concur Travel & Expense!

Hey Everyone! Well, with GP 2010 officially out the door this week and available for our existing and new Customers, I thought I would make an additional exciting announcement about new integration capabilities with Concur Travel & Expense!  Partners, you can read all about this over on PartnerSource (click here), but I wanted to offer my own view on image this through here. First off, those of you who might be Dynamics GP Customers or Prospects, I should tell you that we’ve teamed up to offer integration with Concur for customers who want to better manage their employee expenses (of the Travel & Entertainment type).

The Concur Travel & Expense service truly streamlines the entire employee expense report submission and approval process, through an entirely online, browser-based service.  When combining Concur Travel & Expense with Microsoft Dynamics GP, we can offer a very seamless experience for your employees from the point of booking travel through your own travel portal, to creating expense reports for their completed trips and expenses, to approving and processing the expense reports, all the way to automatically importing the data into Microsoft Dynamics GP so you can quickly pay your employees, corporate cards, and vendors.

Enough of the marketing speak though. This solution can save your organization both TIME and MONEY. At Convergence last week, I had an opportunity to co-host an Interactive Discussion with over 50 Dynamics GP customers that were either using the Concur solutions today OR were interested in using them. Some of the current customers in the room spoke of their ACTUAL benefits after going live on the service.  One said they’ve cut expense report processing time by over 60%! Another said they’ve had a number of times where the Concur service identified employee expense fraud, and another described how it has helped them reduce expenses by better managing the travel policy with their employees.

I’ve seen a number of demos of the Concur Travel & Expense service, and each time I come away impressed by how easy the system is to use, and how incredibly feature rich it is! There are tons of great features, but my personal favorite has to be the Concur Mobile app. If you are out to eat with a client and don’t feel like grabbing that paper receipt for your expense report, just whip out your mobile phone and snap a picture of the receipt.  The next time you create your expense report, an entry for your dinner and a picture of the receipt are waiting for you to add it to the report! I hate coming back from a business trip with a wallet full of paper receipts…this little app (which is included for no extra charge from Concur!) would totally eliminate that and make filling out my expense reports SO much easier.

That little feature just scratches the surface though. There are a ton of other features as well that will save your company real dollars and your employees real time. Wouldn’t you rather have your sales people selling, or your other employees actually working on improving the business, as opposed to submitting and approving expense reports?!  If so, contact your Dynamic GP Partner today for more information on this great new service and integration!

Hi, Does the Concur Expense Integrator work with Concur Expense Pro, or would the customer need to upgrade to Concur Travel and Expense? Thanks Sam

Good question Sam. The new integration will work with BOTH actually! Concur is able to export the same file format for a customer regardless of which platform they are on (eExpense Pro or Concur Travel & Expense).  This means the integration can read the file no matter which one they are using.   AndyW

Will the new integration also work with just the Concur Invoice piece?  Thanks.

Hi Dustin, We haven't done any testing at this time of exported files from Customers using the Concur Invoice or Concur Pay service. We plan on first addressing Concur Pay in an upcoming update and may look at the Concur Invoice service after that.  For now, I cannot promise that it would or would not work since we haven't tested it. I am a little confused about the GP integration, I have been told by my MBS partner that as of August 2009, eExpense (ConcurGP) was no longer available to purchase. He also was unaware of this new product. What is this new integration with Payables and what needs to be purchased thru MBS?

Hi Ryan, Hopefully I can clear this up. The old integration was to Concur's "eExpense Pro" platform, which they are in the process of retiring. Because of that, we removed the integration from our price list. Since that time, we've worked with Concur to develop an updated integration that works with their NEW platform called "Concur Travel & Expense."  This integration is available from the GP Price list for $1,000, and integrates approved expense report data into Payables Management (for GP 10.0 or GP 2010). Your Partner can then engage with Concur to sign up for the service and complete the setup of your online expense management portal. Does this help? AndyW

Andy, I attended the session at Convergence and want to get additional info and a demo of the GP piece that integrates with Concur CTE.  We have been on CTE Enterprise since last year and it has helped cut reimbursement time & identify possible fraud with better approval routing. Our partner forwarded me the E-Expense documentation but I know that is for the old version.  Has Dynamics produced any new documentation related to the new module for GP10/GP2010? If so, can you plase forward to me?  Also, who do we contact for a demo of the module?  Again our rep hasn't had much luck getting that info. Thanks, Frank frank.zuehlke@Jacobsonco.com

Hi Andy, My customer is using Expense Pro - eExpense Integrator in GP side. and they are planning GP 2010 upgrade. I understand what you are saying re new product out and will retire old product all that. For the moment to upgrade to GP2010, is there equivalent of GP2010 eExpense Integrator there which we can download and upgrade. That way, will serve our customer well for immediate needs upgrade to GP2010. and leave them to evalaute the needs to use and when to adopt new product. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks Peter

Hi Peter, Actually, the new integration that is out on PartnerSource for download will work for BOTH eExpense Pro (the retired product) AND for Concur Expense (the new product). So they can upgrade to GP 2010, download the Concur Expense Integrator, and it will work with both the old and the new platform. Take care! AndyW

We are both a Concur and a Dynamics GP customer. We are upgrading to GP 2010 R2 within the next 30 days. We recently migrated from Blackberry to Windows phones. The bad news . . . . Concur does not work with windows phones :(  We now have over 3000 users of Concur where none of the mobile features work. We have talked to Concur about this and they have no ETA on when or if they will add windows phones to thier mobile apps library. My question is this. If Dynamics has a releationship or team with Concur why can that relationship not be leveraged to get Concur to add an app for windows phones? It would seem to me that if Concur is having problems that MS could team up with them and get this done rather quickly.

Evan, Hoping you could send me your information at eschoenf@microsoft.com.  I've reached out to Concur and we'd like to get your details. Thanks.
