Microsoft Developer Dinner Series for Partners: Overview of the Reactive Extensions for .NET/Silverlight/JavaScript
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 5:30 PM, Reston, VA
Come hear how the Reactive Extensions ("Rx") framework takes care of the difficult parts of asynchronous programming by viewing asynchronous computations as push-based collections. Instead of focusing on the hard parts, developers now can start dreaming about the endless possibilities of orchestrating and synchronizing computations at a high-level of abstraction. In this session we cover the design philosophy of the Reactive Extensions for .NET/Silverlight/JavaScript, rooted on the deep duality between the well-known iterator and the observer design patterns. From this core understanding, we start looking at various combinators and operators defined over observable collections, as provided by Rx, driving concepts home by a bunch of samples. Democratizing asynchronous programming starts today. Don't miss out on it!
What you will learn
Join Matt Podwysocki in this session over dinner for a comprehensive, developer focused overview of:
• Design philosophy of the Reactive Extensions for .NET/Silverlight/Javascript
• Various combinators and operators defined over observable collections, as provided by Rx
Who Should Attend
Developers, Architects, Web Designers and technical managers who wish to get an early look at the next advancement in Software Development.
Zune HD will be raffled at the conclusion of the dinner. Notice to all Public Sector Employees: Due to government gift and ethics laws and Microsoft policy, government employees (including military and employees of public education institutions) are not eligible to participate in the raffle.
