Windows Mobile DeviceEmulator phone numbers!

During the demo I did at TechEd Brazil, I showed how to send "yourself" text messages (SMS) inside the device emulator - it is just a matter of sending an SMS to device's phone number, which is: "+1 (425) 001-0001". It turns out there are several other special phone numbers one can use while working/debugging with the emulator. Barry Bond highlights it here.

Here is the resume:

  • SMS: +14250010001 or 001-0001 or 001-0002
  • Voice: 7272470, 7272979, 7272620, 7272917, 7272688, 7272263, 7274390, 7274388, 7274386, and 7274389
  • Data: 7272455, 7272931, 727343, and 7273432
  • Always busy:  7272024
  • Never answer:  7272773
  • Emergency:  911, 112, 08, 999

This is part of the FakeRIL (Radio Interface Layer) which enables one to test phone functionalities without using a real GSM radio (plus the advantage of not receiving a phone bill by the end of the month :-)

Enjoy it!
