When a tree falls in the forest, and no one hears it....

I just had an IM from a frustrated Tatham Oddie who is having problems with IE7 and doesn't know who to tell.

He wrote a post - Invalid Port Number in href Attribute Breaks DOM in IE7 and even put up a test case to demonstrate the problem.

He wanted to submit a bug request, but didn't know where to go.

In desperation he turned to me.

So, what am I going to do?

Well, I've written this post.

I'm going to ping the IE Blog team, link back to all the IE team members, Ali Alvi, Jeff Davis, Jeremy Epling, Bruce Morgan, Justin Rogers, Tony Schreiner and Chris Wilson and let the blogosphere do the rest.

Tatham - Here's hoping your problem hasn't fallen on dead ears.

Similarly, why remove a certain ActiveX control from Vista/IE7, making Outlook Web Access form Exchange 2k3 not work properly? IT helpdesks aren't equipped to deal with it (from example, yesterday) and although I'm sure it was The Right Thing To Do, in the Vista/IE7/ActiveX development racine, it's counter-intuitive for "Vista Means Business", right?
