RIOT-ON!
I was idly channel surfing whenI stumbled across a documentary on SBS TV last night
The synopsis from the website
The documentary Riot On! shows what happens to a bunch of nobodies from Finland who believethey will become billionaires by creating a company with 20 million dollars invested in themby corporate giants like Nokia, News Corporation and the Bush & Bin Laden families driven Carlyle. The story pivots around two people: Jan Wellmann, the charismatic Messiah and main man behind the smoke and mirrors of the shortlived Riot Entertainment Ltd, and John Hakalax, his initially fanatic and passionate disciple who finally breaks down under the burden of lies to become a betraying all telling Judas.
It was such an amazing tale and even has a wikipedia entry (albeit a meagre one) - Riot-E
Riot-E was a Finnish media company making mobile phone games that, despite 20 million euros in venture capital , went bankrupt within two years.
The company was such a spectacular failure, it was the subject of the award winning documentary, "Riot On!"
Company slogan: "We don't make games, we create riots."
It also brought back a lot of repressed memories - arrrggg, time to think about something else.
