When you try to start Microsoft Outlook on a computer that is running Windows XP, you may receive one of the following error messages, depending on the version of Outlook that you are running. After you receive the error message, Outlook does not start.
Microsoft Outlook 2010:
Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you view the error report contents, you see error signature information similar to the following:

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007:
Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The information store could not be opened.
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window.
Microsoft Outlook 2002 and Microsoft Outlook
2000:
Unable to open the Outlook window.
No profile has been created.
The list of Profiles cannot be loaded. An unexpected error has occurred.
