Enable USB Keyboard LED Lights Fix it Live!

We just released another Fix it Knowledge Base (KB) article. This Fix it configures fast resume disable to 1. This allows the LED lights on a USB keyboard to resume their previous status after the computer comes out of sleep or hibernation as described in KB 939334.

Hello Akshay, One additional thing I wanted to let you know is since we are using Windows Installer as our delivery mechanism a system restore point is created automatically when the progress screen is displayed. This is another way to UNDO what the fix has performed. Thanks, -brian

Is it possible to UNDO (or uninstall) the fix once it has been applied using this technique? This particular fix says that it may slow down resume from sleep, now suppose I decide to live with the keyboard lights problem instead of slow resume, can I simply uninstall this fix and get back to the earlier state?? Pls always give info whether it is possible to EASILY undo the patch applied using "fix it for me". BTW Nice Work!

Hello Akshay, Thanks for posting a comment on the blog. The only way to UNDO a fix is to manually reverse the steps in the KB article. We took this approach because we didn't want to leave any breadcrumbs behind on a user's machines. We do foresee some instances where we will register the fix in Add/Remove programs so the fix can be uninstalled. However, this will probably end up being the exception and not the rule. Thanks, -brian
