SQL Server TechCenter Launch
This internal mail just in from our Content Architect for SQL Server. Personally I think the browse by task is pretty cool.
The SQL Server site on TechNet has been republished as a TechCenter: https://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/default.mspx.
Just as MSDN DevCenters focus on providing information to developers, TechCenters focus on providing information to IT Professionals such as DBAs. The basic site layout is similar to the Exchange Server TechCenter (https://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/exchange/default.mspx) and the Windows Server 2003 TechCenter (https://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/default.mspx). The TechCenters will evolve over time to incorporate customer feedback and deliver new SQL Server content as it is published.
The SQL Server TechCenter will have both a Technical Library and a Technologies fly-out in its left column.
The new TechCenter should help improve discoverability of SQL Server Technet content. The navigation pages in the new TechCenter will, for the first time, give customers a set of links to all of the Web content for SQL Server, including links to the relevant major nodes of the copy of the SQL Server Books Online in the MSDN Library.
