Hi Melvin - when you extract the content the Binary content has .msis for both 32 and 64 bit.  The upload gets labeled with x86 but the .msis will be there in both the Binary only and full package.

Hi Mahmoud - Regarding the CustomerSource page I spoke with the support team today and the page is in the process of being updated with the CU-4 information.  The change may take a few days to cycle through and appear on the live site.  To find the specific items addressed in CU-4 you can visit the CU-4 page on CustomerSource.  There is a listing of the KB articles included in CU-4 that you can reference.  There is a link in the original post here if you click on the  KB2765124 hyperlink.

Yes Bjorn - you are correct.  R2 will have separate CUs from AX 2012 RTM.

Hi Tommy - an in-place upgrade from CU-4 to R2 was tested successfully.

Hi Normann - In terms of future support the difference in AX 2012 and AX 2012 are very small.  Each is serviced out of a different code branch, but each has the same product lifecycle in terms of end date:support.microsoft.com/.../Default.aspx.   On the upgrade side of things we historically have enabled upgrade from the previous two versions.

Are all updates of CU4 also included in the R2 version?

I have the same question, why this CU4 is released at the same time than R2?

I believe R2 will have it's own branch of CU's, is that correct?

Could you please comment on whether or not an in-place upgrade to R2 is tested successfully from AX2012 RTM CU4?

Thanks, Brian. I will be doing one tomorrow, so I would have discovered it sooner or later. Good to know it is supposed to work out. :D Wish me luck!

Hi. Is there any difference in future support if you choose not to install R2? Also keeping in mind AX7 upgrade, will it be possible to upgrade without R2? Ty.

Is there any reason CU4 is not listed in the customer source under the list of CU updates? I am in the manufacturing industry and i am hoping that CU4 will address some the performance issues that exists in CU3 and before. Also, whee do i find the list of hotfix's for CU4?

Is there a list of hotfixes that missed the R2 cut-off date? Will they be delivered anywhere soon?

The hotfix appears only for x86... please let me know if we can use the same for 64 bit, Tks...
