Announcing Compatibility Certification of SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 with Dynamics AX

Dynamics AX Sustained Engineering is proud to announce the following compatibility between the released versions of Dynamics AX and SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 : 

 

Microsoft Product

Dynamics AX Version

SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1

Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 and Dynamics AX 2012

(32 bit and 64 bit mode)

The System requirements of Dynamics AX 2009 and AX 2012 are in the process of being updated on Customer Source and Partner Source.

    There are no plans for compatibility certification of Dynamics AX 4 SP2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1. At the time of the certification for Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 and Dynamics AX 2012, mainstream support for Dynamics AX 4 SP2 had expired (was in extended support) and thus was not included in the compatibility matrix.     Is SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 compatible with Dynamics AX 2009 SP1?

    What about the compatibility between Dynamics AX 4 SP2 and SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1?

    It mentions here that AX 2012 is compatible, can I assume that this means AX 2012 and all CU's. In addition is SQL server 2008 R2 SP2 compatible with Connector for Microsoft Dynamics.
