NetFx 4.0 Beta 1
NetFx 4.0 has transitioned from the occasional preview release to its first official beta. MSDN subscribers can pick up a copy of the beta today. Broader availability for the release will happen Wednesday. I'll edit in a direct link to the download page when that happens.
As this is the first beta release, there are a number of things left undone, although the majority of large features are in place. There are only a small number of big items that we kept out of beta 1 to ensure that the release had sufficient stability and quality to get good feedback about the other features. There are also going to be a small number of features moving the other way that appear in this release but aren't going to be in the final product.
Together with NetFx 4.0 you're also getting a beta release of Visual Studio 2010.

Has anyone published a comprehensive list of new features or something to that extent? I haven't been able to find anything yet and would like some direction to start playing w/ things.Anonymous

Hi James, Here's a list that you might want to start with: http://blogs.msdn.com/endpoint/archive/2009/05/07/the-road-to-4-wcf-changes-between-beta-1-and-ctp.aspx.
