XNA Games Windows PhoneCamp - August 27 - Jacksonville

Jacksonville .NET Code Camp is coming up on Saturday, August 27th. As a special treat, we've got an 'event inside an event'. Chris G. Williams ( @chrisgwilliams ) is making the roadtrip down from Greenville, South Carolina, to run a XNA Gaming Oriented Windows PhoneCamp. Chris is the author of - Professional Windows Phone 7 Game Development - pictured on the right.

The event will follow the format of the 'garage' events we did last year.  A full day event, with early in the day setup for learning XNA from a master, then using a few hours in the afternoon to build a game. I'll have some special prizes for those who START and BUILD the best game during the day. Can't wait for this myself, so I ordered his book!

09:00 AM - 09:55 AM Intro to WP7 - includes info about the platform and very basic Silverlight & XNA content
10:00 AM - 10:55 AM Getting familiar with XNA (covers differences in XNA programming model and what's in the framework)
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Using Phone Features w/ XNA (this covers accelerometer, gestures, gps, camera, etc)
12:00 PM - 01:00 PM Lunch
01:00 PM - 01:55 PM Using Push Notifications in your game
02:00 PM - 02:55 PM Making a Scrollable Tile Map for your game
